This method is an irreplaceable instrument in researching hidden communities such as injection drug users. The research is largest among those conducted in Ukraine by this method because 4000 respondents in 16 Ukrainian cities were interviewed. The data received by this research enable the assessment of knowledge level on HIV/AIDS issues, the practice of injection drug use, sexual practices, and the overall level of HIV/AIDS infection among this population category.
