Numbers of internet users in Ukraine grow

 

The size of Ukrainian internet audience (number of unique users who viewed one or more pages during October 2008 and users who viewed web pages in October and the previous month) was in October 2008 10.16 million people which is 6% more than in September  2008. This result was published in a report by Ukrainian web portal Bigmir)net “Global statistics of Ukrainian internet” for October 2008 as quoted by UNIAN.

Distribution geography of internet users in October 2008 reveals that most Ukrainian internet users live in the capital and big cities. Ukraine's largest 8 regions provide for about 90% of Ukrainian internet users.

There is a large gap between Kyiv and other regions. Kyiv in October 2008 provided for 58.96% of all internet users in Ukraine. Following are: Odessa (6.43% internet users), Dnipropetrovsk (5.62%), Donetsk (5.41%), Kharkiv (4,44%), Lviv (3,58%), Zaporizhya (2,47%), Crimea (2,70%). These regions provided for a sum of 30.65%.

All other regions of Ukraine provided for a little over 10% internet users in Ukraine in October  2008.

The cities that were outsiders to internet penetration of Ukraine are: Lutsk (0.17% users), Zhitomir (0.21%), and Chernivtsi (0.22%).

The total time spent by Ukrainian internet users on-line was in October over 4.05 billion minutes which is 5.32% more than in September 2008. (UNIAN)
